My initial interest in the base started with its aircraft accidents. My grandmother was an eyewitness to one of these particular accidents in late 1944. This is what got me into the research side of things. Taking 10 years to complete, I am proud to announce that I have just launched my first book "Wartime Langford Lodge" through "Station 597 Publications". It is a documented account of 48 aircraft accidents directly associated with Langford Lodge during its wartime operation as a modifiation and repair depot spanning the war years 1942 - 1945. Comprising of 240 pages and 216 illustrations, I guarantee this book deserves a spot on your book shelf.

Hello Folks,

Welcome to my website, dedicated to the former American airfield known as Langford Lodge. I have been researching the history of Langford Lodge since 2001, thanks to my late grandmother who shared her memories of the base to me, as she grew up in the area at the time. On this website you will find various photographs and information pertaining to Langford Lodge during its time under American Control. I think it is time to share some of my research with like minded and interested individuals. Not intended as a work of art, I hope the website leaves you, the reader, with a better understanding about what this base was all about. If you had family located at Langford Lodge, please get in touch, I always look forward to making contact with family members of former personnel that were based there.

Kindest regards to you all and thank you for visiting my website.
